Not that I think what they call it really matters, but Arne Duncan, the new Secretary of Education, is thinking about re-branding the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law. Maybe if nothing else a new name could set the tone? Anyhow, he wants ideas – as quoted in a US News interview:
Asked what he would call a new version of the law, Duncan answered, “Don’t know yet. I’m open to ideas.”
So, any ideas? I’m still formulating mine.
Learning is messy!

What about Raising the Standards? It applies not only to the students, but to the schools and teachers as well.
Chad – I’d be curious about what you mean by Raising the Standards and why you think that would be a good focus.

Hi nice post, i have come across your site once before when searching for something so i was just wondering something. I love your theme, would it happen to be a free one i can download, or is it a custom one you had made? In a few weeks i will be launching my own site, i’m not great with designs but i really like the style of your site so it would be cool if i could find (or pay for) something with a similar look. 🙂 Thanks!
Hi Jared – My theme is just the standard WordPress theme – here is how it is described::
“WordPress Default 1.6 by Michael Heilemann
The default WordPress theme based on the famous Kubrick.
All of this theme’s files are located in /themes/default.
Tags: blue, custom header, fixed width, two columns, widgets”
I did change the banner at the top (with some help from someone that knows more than I) – but it really isn’t that hard), and hope to make it even better soon – or I might switch themes. Hope that helps.
