One of the benefits of having students blog is that they build an archive of their work. Today I had my students find an earlier post to “remixâ€. If they were in our class in 4th grade, they had to choose a post from 4th grade – if they joined us last year they had to pick a post from 5th grade – and students new to us this year had to pick a post from before the Holidays.
They are editing for various errors, but then they are adding descriptive words, changing things around, adding content. I got a somewhat negative reaction to the idea at first, but now that they are working all I hear are tapping keys. We’ll see how it goes when we have time to finish up next week (which is the next time we’ll have time to work on it).
